Ryan Harper was born and raised in the Phoenix area where he attended Northwest Christian High School after which he graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2014. Inspired by his work in undergrad as part of the GCU athletic department’s strength and conditioning team, Ryan decided to pursue a career focused on helping people experience the benefits of movement and exercise. This focus combined with a passion for the medical field eventually led to Ryan attending Chapman University in Irvine, CA where he graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2019. He joined the Desert Edge Physical Therapy team in December 2019.
Married just weeks before entering the physical therapy program, he and his wife are now expecting a baby boy in May. Raised as one of four boys, he is thrilled to add another boy to the Harper family! Ryan and his wife enjoy hiking, playing board games, and watching episodes of Friends. He also enjoys running, listening to podcasts, and reading. Eager to learn and engage in an intellectual challenge, he is a capable problem-solver who is able to help patients understand the root of their physical ailments and set a plan in motion to help them resolve their conditions.
An aspect of physical therapy Ryan values most is the opportunity to spend one on one time with his patients to determine a treatment plan that is best suited for their specific needs. His treatment philosophy focuses on patient education combined with therapeutic exercise and hands-on techniques to help patients reach their goals. Ryan is happy to serve you, your family and friends, and patients improve their lives because he believes that when you move better, you can live better!
