Cassidy Cooney, PT, DPT

Cassidy Cooney was born and raised in Glendale, Arizona. His passion for helping others on their physical journey began during his own experience overcoming pain caused by improper training while pursuing weight loss as a teenager. A lifelong baseball player with a love for resistance training, Cassidy found fulfillment in helping others reach their goals and building lasting relationships through his years working in the exercise field before becoming a physical therapist.

Cassidy attended Grand Canyon University, where inspiring mentors deepened his passion for kinesiology and anatomy. After earning his undergraduate degree, he remained at GCU as an adjunct instructor and led a human dissection project before enrolling in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Northern Arizona University’s Phoenix Biomedical Campus. He graduated with his DPT in 2019 and has loved every moment of serving patients since.

Dedicated to breaking the status quo of healthcare, Cassidy strives to provide the highest quality care and genuine compassion to each person he treats. He understands that navigating pain and the healthcare system can be overwhelming—and he sees it as his responsibility to advocate for his patients every step of the way. Cassidy enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions but has a special interest in complex musculoskeletal cases involving joint stiffness, muscle weakness, and chronic pain. His goal is to educate and empower patients with the knowledge and tools to overcome their limitations and live active, confident lives.

Outside the clinic, Cassidy is a proud husband and father. He met his wife in GCU’s human dissection lab, and together they’re raising three wonderful children—an oldest daughter, a middle son, and a youngest daughter. The Cooney family enjoys traveling, camping, and serving in their church’s children’s ministry. At home on their one-acre property in northwest Surprise / West Peoria, they grow vegetables, raise chickens, and find joy in living close to God’s creation.
